GENERAL SUMMARY AND SCOPE
The Host/Hostess position reports to the director or supervisor on duty and is responsible for delivering and picking up trays for patients, communicating pertinent information regarding menu preferences to the Diet Office Operators, delivering nourishments, taking inventory of floor supplies and re-supplying them to a par level. Works as team member with the patient/patient’s family, nursing, Diet Office Operator and food service support to maximize patient meal satisfaction. Practices customer service requirements at all times. A very courteous and professional manner and appearance are expected. Performs as patient advocate for assigned unit.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to read and write small letters and numbers.
Ability to communicate and understand written and oral communication.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
Ability to lift 30 pounds and be mobile.
